Mr Luckson Chirwa has more than 21 years experience working in various capacities and in diverse organisations. He has vast experience in financial management, grants management and internal audit. He has worked in diverse sectors including private sector organisations, banking institutions, government as well as the non-profit/NGO sectors.
He has held various senior management positions including that of Regional Finance Director for the Open Society Foundation in Southern Africa (OSISA) which works in ten Southern African countries; Head of Grants for the National AIDS Commission of Malawi where he was managing funding from both bilateral and multilateral donor agencies; National Programme Accountant for EU/Government of Malawi Public Works Programme; Management Accountant for Nedbank Personal Financial Planning Division; and Assistant Director of Internal Audit in the Gauteng Provincial Government.
Mr Chirwa has travelled extensively in his career life and has visited the United States, Turkey, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Hungary, Malaysia, Senegal and all states in the SADC region. Such travel has given him exposure to people of various cultural backgrounds which would be considered beneficial in a consulting environment.
Mr Chirwa has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy from the University of Malawi. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom and recently has been awarded the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
